War took a huge tool on the economy of Afghanistan. Although many were reluctant to invest in the Afghanistan due to the uncertainties surrounding it but New Abasin Group owners knew that someone had to take the first step, take the risk in order for a better future in Afghanistan. Thus, in 2002, New Abasin limited was found. The owners of New Abasin group of companies are Muhammad Najeeb Zikria, Muhammad Shafiq Zikria, Ajmal Safi and Tasal Safi. At that time New Abasin limited was the biggest supplier of construction material to the United Nations for the construction of UNIMA’s new compound. Later on, Abasin Construction Company was found. They worked with the US army and the interior ministry of Afghanistan to carry out numerous construction projects in the city of Jalalabad and Kabul. With the passage of time New Abasin ltd horizons broadened and the Abasin travel and Tours Company was found. This company provided and still does provide tickets to all government offices in Afghanistan including parliament, senate and many other senior offices. Being the pioneer of diversification they grabbed every opportunity out there in order to stabilise the economy of Afghanistan as much as possible and forming a joint venture in 2015 with a Foreign Manufacturer was one of it. Abasin Jilani Packages Industry (AJPI) is the largest manufacturer in packaging industry in Afghanistan, with over 350 workers employed. They provide a range of products such as agricultural film, packaging for fruits, vegetables and packaging material for different industries like tissue paper industry and salt industry. They produce shrink film for beverages industries (such as mineral water, coca cola, Pepsi) and BOPP bags for dry fruit industry which is used in export. Pak Etifaq is a trading company which falls under the umbrella of New Abasin group of companies and it was found in 2008. Pak Etifaq became the importers of paint, steel and woven bags (agricultural bags). To promote export in order to improve the Balance of Payment (BOP) of the country, they began the export of coal to Pakistan and soon became the largest exporter of coal to Pakistan from Afghanistan. They focused on even the tiniest of details and tried to work for the betterment of people in every possible way. In order to promote education, peace and unity in Afghanistan, they started printing positive messages on their packing bags or carry bags. These messages included "Education is light (Elam rana da )", "Success comes from unity (Zamung Kameyabi pe yao wali ke da)" and "We want peace (Mong sulha ghuaro)". These bags were distributed all over Afghanistan to spread positivity. New Abasin group of companies aim has always been to work for the nation and they believe that it is their responsibility towards their motherland to bring peace and work for a better future for generations to come. “One step at a time” is the reason behind their success.
